About

Frequently Asked Questions

01

Breathwork is a practice of intentionally controlling your breath to influence your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. By altering your breathing patterns, you can access a deeper state of awareness, release tension, and promote healing. It works by activating the body’s parasympathetic nervous system, enhancing oxygen flow, and releasing stored emotions.

02

Not at all! Breathwork is accessible to everyone, regardless of experience. All you need is an open mind, and the willingness to try something new.

03

During a session, you may feel tingling, lightness, or emotional shifts, which are normal and part of the process. Afterward, many people report feeling calmer, lighter, more grounded, and energized. Each experience is unique and reflects your body's needs in that moment.

04

To prepare for a breathwork session, eat lightly a few hours beforehand, wear comfortable clothing, and find a quiet, undisturbed space where you can lie down or sit comfortably. Bringing water, a cozy blanket, and a journal for reflection afterward can also be helpful.

05

Breathwork offers a wide range of benefits, including: reduced stress and anxiety, improved sleep, increased energy and focus, emotional release and healing, deeper connection to self, enhanced creativity and intuition.

06

Yes, it’s completely normal! Breathwork often allows deeply held emotions to surface, creating space for release and healing. Emotions are a natural part of the process. Remember, you’re always in control and can pause if needed.

07

After a session, give yourself time to rest and reflect. Journal any insights, emotions, or shifts that surfaced, and honor your body with hydration, nourishing food, and gentle movement. Anchor your experience by identifying one insight to carry forward and creating small, intentional changes in your daily life. Share your experience with a trusted guide or support system, explore reSources to help you find the next steps forward, and trust that the shifts will continue to unfold over time.

08

Breathwork is generally safe for most participants. However, it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new practice, especially if you have underlying health conditions. If you’re pregnant, have cardiovascular issues, severe anxiety, or a history of trauma, the practice can be adjusted to ensure it’s gentle and supportive.

09

The roots of breathwork trace back to ancient civilizations. Practices like pranayama in India, qigong in China, and various breathing techniques in other cultures have been used for centuries to enhance physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Modern breathwork, as we know it today, emerged in the 1960s and 70s, building upon these ancient foundations and incorporating Western psychological and therapeutic approaches.
